Nakamura Dynamics launched the Kitsune shuttle for civilian use as they demilitarized more of their fleet. The variable geometry cargo and their compatibility with a standard docking bay make them well-adapted to varied tasks within many types of operations. They’re especially suited to transport between larger ships and planetary/lunar surfaces. -In-Game Description

The Kitsune is a small shuttle that works as a short-haul vessel. It's lack of a torch is made up for the fact that the ship is light enough to be maneuvered well using RCS thrusters alone, and the ship's (and by extention, cargo bay's) generally small size, it won't be hampered too much by full cargo. The cargo bay's unique expand and contract feature allows the ship to be even more compact when desired, and what is usually a toggle for the torches ("0") is replaced as the toggle for the cargo bay. The variable processed cargo of this ship is optimal for quick trading runs with Obonto Habitats.

Any captains who wish to still fly with a torch, the Kzinti Lesson can be fitted to the spinal hardpoint and by flying the ship backwards.
