A Radar Anomaly is a form of astrogation target where the position of it is known, but the identity is not. Radar anomalies are typically a man-made vessel, whether it be mining ship or otherwise is to be determined by your discovery.
Obtaining
A radar anomaly can be found randomly by your crew, when they notice something odd on their instruments.
Locations
A radar anomaly can lead to a multitude of vessel interactions, with certain finds being determined by how the coordinates were obtained. The following table provides a list of how they're found:
Radar Anomaly Find | Source | Dialogue Associated | Further Notes |
---|---|---|---|
K37 Derelict | Crew Talk | "Before we left, I saw SAR report a derelict they couldn't take back - it shouldn't be far from us. We could beat Search and Rescue to it." | |
Pirate Trap | Crew Talk | Same as previos | |
Minefield | Crew Talk | Same as previos | |
Any Miner (K37, Eagle Prospector, Cothon-212 or Model E) | Crew Talk | "What was that thing? Did you see that flash on the visfeed?" | |
Big Bad Wolf | Crew Talk | Same as previos | |
Pirate in Combat | Crew Talk | Same as previos | |
K225 (modified) Derelict | Crew Talk | "Captain, remember <sibling's ship name>, the ship <sibling> was on? I set up some bots to track automated insertion scans from Enceladus, and one of them just picked up a blip from its signature. Could we check it out?" | End to the Missing Sibling questline. |
Notes
- Destination finds all have the same chance of appearing, excluding the K225 (modified) as it acts as a special case.
- The find is set in stone once the coordinates have been recorded.
- This can be taken advantage of by returning to Enceladus Prime without heading to the anomaly to save, going out to discover the object, and reloading if a different loadout would be preferred.
