Contacts are locations that can be found and accessed on the astrogator menu in OMS. They can be traveled to both in-ring and from Enceladus Prime, and can be the location of various events and objects in the rings. Most are reliant on an astrogator's experience to track for long periods of time. Without an astrogator, any trackable or empheral contact will only be available for 12 hours from your basic astrogator training, and if they are lost, they can still be viewed with the Show Lost Destinations option, however they will have drifted away from the location you end up due to the movement of the rings, with the distance increasing with the length that they remain lost.
Trackable Contacts
These contacts are any large object that can be found in the ring. They can be gained and updated just by being near them.
Trackable contacts can include any of the following objects:
- Obonto Habitats
- Phage Stations
- Moonlets & their contained locations
- Ganymedean Anarchy Station
- Carbon Anomaly
- The Space Bar
Empheral Contacts
These contacts are one-time objects that lead to other events, and disappear once astrogated to in favor of their resulting event.
Empheral contacts can be any of the following locations, with appropriate descriptions to what they are:
- Radar Anomaly - locates to an event that entails a ship or other vessel.
- Big Lidar Contact - locates to a large object, usually moonlet or station based
- Ganymedean ore pickup point - a THICC bought from a Ganymedean ship or the Ganymedean Anarchy Station, leads to a rogue THICC
- Ganymedean ship pickup point - a derelict ship purchased from a Ganymedean ship
Drop Point Contacts
These contacts are different from the other two as they do not rely on an astrogator to track, and produce their own signal. These can be both empheral or stay the entire duration of their timer.
Drop point contacts can be any of the following locations:
- Drop Point - a 30 day drop point that leads to the Big Bad Wolf
- Vilcy Patrol Rendevouz - a 7 day drop point that leads to a previously-encountered Vilcy patrol, vanishes once visited
- Racing Site - a 7 day drop point that leads to an established racing site, vanishes once visited
- Excavation Claim Alpha - the location of your left claim beacon, length based on 1 day per 1 000 E$ spent, can cumulate forever
- Excavation Claim Beta - ditto but for the right claim beacon
